Back ground .
Engine Suzuki M16 , 4 cyl with VVT on the cam only .

Had a 36-2-2-2 crank trigger and 2 , 2,1 , 1 cam tooth pattern . I have trimmed the crank to a 12 tooth pattern , so I can run vvt . Shame as I could have run wasted spark on the crank alone , oh well , done now .

Info says I need a missing tooth crank and a single cam tooth , so I need to grind off some cam teeth and one more crank tooth . My question is where is the best place for the triggers ?

My old engine runs a MS1 and that preferred the triggers in certain places and needed a tooth each ignition event . It seems Speeduino does not need this , so I suspect I may be over thinking this but figured I would ask before committing and wasting a good cam .

I read somewhere in the instructions , but now cant find it , that I need to ensure the cam tooth does not move across the crank trigger tooth during VVT operation , but are there any other things to avoid ? Should I just make the crank missing tooth just before TDC and then pick a cam tooth 90 deg from this ?

What is the ideal trigger positions ?

Thanks
Chris
