Any strange behaviour, crashing issues etc, post them here! Problems compiling the firmware should go in the General support section rather than here

Hello everyone,

This is gonna be a stupid question and, I confess, I did not search thoroughly through TS menus or on my Speeduino board if anything was going to get me out of the stupid zone.

But, if any kind soul could help me save some time instead of blindly searching (and yes, I did try Google, but I think i'm the first lazy one to ask) :

I have a battery voltage warning on TS, which is showing me 24 volts. My bat is at 12 volts so of course it's not that, and I did check the voltage on the harness end and, yeah, there is only 12 volts going into the speeduino.

(This is my first Speeduino build and my first time using TS, so I'm going blindly on both of them)

Why is that? Is it TS not calibrated rightly enough or is it on the speeduino side?

Thank you so much for any kind soul that can answer me and to anyone stumbling on my post, have a great monday

Check you have the correct board type selected as this commonly causes that sort of issue.

Sorry for the very, very late answer. I got caught up by IRL stuff and didn't find the time to get back to my Speeduino's setup...

Anyway, what do you mean by selecting the wrong board type? As in, in TunerStudio or in Speedyloader? I didn't find anything that separated the 0.3 and 0.4 board types nor UA4C and other types. I did find this and set to its default :

But other than that, I can't find anything else.
I do get what you mean, it sure does seem like a wrong board type thing. What I did so far:
- Bought another Mega just to be sure. Using one and the other to see whether it was the Mega's fault, it doesn't seem like it?
- Ripped all my wiring and started again. Grounded all 4 of the UA4C's grounds (I only grounded one beforehand) and doing one thing only: reading the coolant temp.

And, what is really strange is... I sure did not have a coolant temp reading, but the battery voltage warning popped out, and now, well... The battery voltage reading does change, but it depends on the resistance of my sensor lol. Meaning, when I simply short both terminals of my sensor I get:

I'm kinda lost here... Now is the time to make me feel stupid 'cause I really need it...

Oh my god, I found out where the board type is set after a lot of tinkering.

By going into "Engine constants" in TS and then in Speeduino Board, there's a little Board layout select input.

Setting it to the right layout did immediatly resolved my issue... But, shouldn't that be showed more prevently? There's nothing indicating that this should be found in TS, nowhere in the wiki nor on YouTube for that matter... I had to dig in the code to find out how and where pin layouts went from speeduino.ini to TS...

Well, anyway, case's closed. Thank you very much dazq, I am so back into this!

Well done glad you got everything sorted.

For others in the future , board layout is set in engine constants as mentioned https://wiki.speeduino.com/en/configura ... _Constants

I must agree that despite the level of importance this setting has on operation it is a little lacking in the way it is mentioned in the wiki. Something to look at methinks.

Well done again :-)
