Your install has to live in the real world as Jholland says, not your garage. I know microaquirt does it. What hasn't been discussed is what fault detection/ tolerance is built in or what problems users have.
OEMs have been on a quest to save half a penny forever. How many have eliminated the costly cam sensor for the microsquirt scheme? They have to warranty those engines and so far I haven't found one.
Don't misunderstand, it intrigues me and I hope it works. My experience is that it will need some fault tolerance. Even on a track, the guy with the super ignition system his BIL installed will created lots of EMF. Your install, no matter how well done includes lots of wires that act as antennas tuned to various frequencies.
