I'm using and 36-1 tooth crank mounted wheel and a 2 wire vr sensor. Ford knock sensor, coolant temp sensor gm intake air temp sensor and the rest are all ford sensors. I installed and ford 2006 crown vic front suspension and a 2001 explorer 3.73 LS rear dif. It's lowered about 6 inches all the way around.

Doing this build has been a challenging and fulfilling project and I do believe that putting together and installing the UA4C has been the most challenging part so Im confident that it will be the most fulfilling part.

The only part of this project that I've done enough times to be able to say I know what I'm doing is the engine build. Back in the early 2000's I built a 2nd gen Honda Prelude and converted it from pre-ODB to OBD1 by building a conversion harness and taking a civic ECU and adding a socket for a chip which is the first and only time I've done a EFI build. I must say that by coming here and mostly just reading and rereading has taken me further than I would have thought which is a testament to the vast wealth of knowledge on this forum.

Ok, I got the truck running last week and after a couple of days of off and on Idle tuning I increasingly started having a really rich condition that almost cost me the whole project (thanks to a defective fuel pressure regulator) some reason the fuel was passing thru the vac/boost connection on the regulator and pumping a lot of extra fuel into the engine which ended up causing a fire. Thankfully even though I had to run the 100 yard dash (200 yards round trip) to turn on some water and start a pressure washer because the water hose was hooked up to it, I got the fire put out and I've only had to replace 1 LS1 coil and remake the injector and ignition part of the wiring harness. I was having an issue before that happened on top of the rich condition and that was that most of the time when I would turn the key to the on position the fuel pump would kick on but after the 2 second prime I set for it, the fuel pump would almost always keep running. Sometimes it would briefly stop only to restart. Any thoughts on what could cause that?

After spending the entire weekend rebuilding the injector and ignition sections of my harness, it started right up and sounded and felt really nice. However, I need to make a note to self (I identify as self when make notes to myself) lol. Anyway I went ahead and ordered a new wideband harness for my O2 controller and will be picking up a 2nd new 4.9 O2 sensor. Where the controller harness connects to the O2 sensor were melted into a crusty blob. I also had to repair a 12 in section of the trucks OEM harness for the back half of the truck. I only have a few minutes of run time on the UA4C which is working surprisingly close to perfect. I'm going to try not to run it anymore until after I install the new harness and sensor.

I also converted it to use a Crown Vic power steering pump, a must with the Crown Vic front suspension. This has been and I'm sure will continue to be a long learning curve and once I figure out how to ask them, I've got some questions...Lol.

CV uses 1" bore MC, and Explorer is 1-1/16", so a CV master should be close, but possibly a hair soft on the rear discs. That may be an advantage for braking in corners. Testing will tell. 8-)
