Any general discussion around the firmware, what is does, how it does it etc.

Hi,

Its been a while since i was active here and i see some beautiful things happend here in the meanwhile. Lately i am reading a lot more on the forum and then specially about the stm32 8x8. My daily Capri is still running my standalone build speeduino on wasted spark. I build 2ecu's, but never had to use the backup.. Going great, at least for the spark part, its running on LPG, so no injectors for most of the time.

I was reading the stm32 topics from Tjeerd, Pazzi and others on stm builds and i was thinking on building a standalone on the STM32F407VET6. I like the STM32 platform. I already bought a set of 6 smart coils for the daily and would like to run them with speeduino in seq mode.

I was able to get tunerstudio alive on a black stm32 with platformIO(i am new to this, great step-up after arduino IDE) and later i saw the speedyloader is also able to burn the firmware. This is great! I downloaded the 2024.2.02 firmware via speedyloader to the ecu and was checking the pinout of the in/outputs via tunerstudio. I looked at the init code and it looks like the code is uploaded from Tjeerds pinout? It only has max 6cylinders? I also have a v8, so i would like to build a ecu with 8x8.

Is the firmware loaded by the speedyloader ready for 8cylinders? If not, can we add this to the (most) "standard" code? That one that is loaded via speedyloader? it would be great to use the speedyloader and not change ports manually in the code.

You may want to sign up for Discord and have a read through the STM32 thread if you have not already done so :)

Look at the top of the forum page as how to get there.
