Help with building your Speeduino, installing it, getting it to run etc.

Hi guys,
So I’m getting ready to get my D14A4 Civic running on Speeduino. I have a version that didn’t come with a proper CPS. It takes the crank info from the camshaft sensor instead, or so I’ve been told. Do I have to custom install a CPS, or is there an option to run it on the stock configuration? Maybe some other cars have a similar solution. Cheers!

Most Hondas run on just the distributor signals. What you need to know is what signals your version makes every cycle (2 crank revolutions). That's one turn of the distributor shaft (cam speed). Most of them have two sensors and two trigger wheels or discs in there, that turn at half crank speed. Get that info and we can see if it's controllable as-is.

The pattern of signals. All signals are conditioned to 5V square wave in any case (analog or digital), so the sensor type is not the issue, only the pattern of signals (teeth and gaps) for first look. Two random examples below of Honda D17 (not yours of course), and Subaru 36-2-2-2 to show their patterns the decoder must interpret:

Your distributor likely has 2 or 3 separate signals that can be useful to decode. List all of them for reference.
