My goal is to run a k24a2 without a chassis, using a makeshift fuel cell (acura TSX fuel pump bolted into a 5 gallon bucket), rsx type s harness, 2004 accord run by cable throttle body, TSX fuse box, battery, and a speeduino. My goal is to simply run the engine (even in limp mode) like in this video:

I would prefer to do this myself instead of purchasing a pnp.

I'm looking into purchasing the Speeduino v0.4.3, an arduino, and an aftermarket rsx type s harness. I'm looking to pin the harness to the speeduino per this video (Note: the video shows a k24a4 not a k24a2):

The forums show old posts of the k series decoder being "finished soon", but I don't see anything in the speeduino manual.

Can somebody help me out? Any tips? Thanks!

Be careful in the use of "k series" as this applies to both honda and rover engine types.
There are many running honda engines on here , I wonder if some of the references you found were to the development of the rover pattern which was far more complex.

Good point! I guess for starters, is there a trigger pattern for the Honda/acura k24 platform? I don’t see one in the manual or options in tuner studio. There is one for Honda d17 however.

getting any k series engine to run on the speedouino seems difficult for me, i own a U4AC, bought fully assembled and works (i believe), i truly think it would be impossible to do without deep investigation of the forums AKA TIME. You can find out your tooth pattern by inspecting your cam shaft, or looking up your camshafts trigger pattern, however not a lot of the trigger patterns for nice NA hondas is supported UNLESS it’s obd1… not sure if they cracked the code to hondas obd2 ports yet, and what module cause the automatic factory ecu to reset on some of the favoured 2007+ models. :| :| :| :| :| :| :|

but in conclusion my friend, you’ll spend nights, of multiple days, on countless weeks trying to get it running even outside the chassis, once it’s in you have to deal with ECMs, TCMs, all fun canbus stuff, that i don’t believe is included on probably all but 1 board let alone being able to get any of your gauge cluster working without having deep canbus knowledge and practice to get working.

In terms of performance, I’m setting aside money to buy a standalone ecu, as you probably already know they are EXPENSIVE! which evidently brought me to this forum in the first place. I figured running the k24a2 outside of the chassis using a speeduino and an ebay harness would be a fun side project.-and I’m still committed to making it work. I have found several people who made it happen. Will keep you all updated with progress!
