For anything related to the 'official' Speeduino boards (Eg v0.3, v0.4 etc)

Hi all, i'm from Brasil, here is very dificult to buy 0.4w resistors, in the V0.4.3d board - locations (R9 R10 R11 R12 R23 R24 R25 R26 R33 R30 R31 R32 R34 R38 R39 R40 R55 R62 R63 R35 R36 R27 R45 R46 R5 R6 R7 R8 R17 R18 R21 R22 R29 R37 R41 R42 R44 R47 R53 R54 R52), the Bom Xls show Digikey Part Number 0.4w resistors.

Can I use 1/4w resistor instead 0.4w ?

I have the same problem with STP62NS04Z, Can I use irfz44n instead STP62NS04Z ?

regards from Brasil.

Yes.

Yes, but two things - the IRFZ is a 10V part, and more appropriate would be the IRLZ. Also, these are robust devices, but do not have the protections the STP has. Many have used them, and usually not a problem, but be aware.

The IRF44ZN has a single pulse avalanche energy rating of 150mJ maximum, that may be adequate, it depends on the injectors used. A typical early Denso injector, as fitted to an earlier Miata is around 10mH and 12 Ohms will have an avalanche energy of around 12mJ at 18V (24mJ if paired) so that won't be a problem. If you are pushing more current then you need to be more careful because the energy is proportional to the square of the current.

Hi Psig, thanks for the replay, I will order the resistors 1/4w. The IRLZ44 it's easy to buy here. I have problems buying the polyfuses components too (F1, F2), IRLD024PBF this component I search only in international sites.

D14 - SB230TA - have any similar component ?
D15 - T_TVS - have any similar component ?

Oh, okay, I will stay alert about this, I had actually verified that the stp had internal protections, thanks !

It doesn't, it has a gate clamp, it increases the avalanche capability but in the event of an overcurrent it will get driven into the linear region which will kill it.
Thanks for the reply and explication.

The hard part now is finding the components IRLD024PBF, SB230TA, TP6KE47A, 0ZRP0050FF1E.

Is there a similar component that is easier to find?

Can I use IRFD110 instead IRLD024 ?

I wouldn't recommend the IRFD110 because it won't be fully on at 5V, you really want a FET with the 'L' in the part number, that indicates that it is a logic level device. Did you look for the IRLZ44N that was suggested earlier?

Hello, so about the IRLZ44N I was asking to replace the STP62, but I managed to buy the STP62 on an international shopping site.

About the IRLD024, it is what controls the outputs for PWM and VVT - positions Q6 and Q5 on the PCB, I can't find this component easily here, I thought about using the IRLD110, output up to 1A (I typed its name wrong in the previous post), However, I don't know if 1A is enough for PWM and VVT.

Regarding the D14 - SB230Ta I will use a simple schottky 1n5818.

About the D15 - tp6ke I will use a varistor instead.

Hi there, no problem there, but be aware that 1/4W is 0.25 W. And besides depends on what current flows through, or it will act as a fuse. So if your resistor is placed somewhere current/voltage sensitive, like at an injector driver output, you might want to think twice.
