Background: installing a BP4W (VVT) into a 1990 NA Miata

I've wired ECU pin 2I direct to the tach (by joining the yellow/blue and black/white wires at the ignitor). Do I:
  • Do nothing? :D
  • Set the tach output in software?
  • Install a jumper on the tach pins on the board?
Or some combination of the above?

I did this on a 92 miata with a vvt engine as well. Tach output is just like you said. I connected the two pins at the igniter and used the jumper. The default settings for the tach output on tuner studio worked just fine.

Worked great - after I set pulse width to 3. It defaulted to 32 in the vendor base tune.

Engine is installed, starts & idles. Car is on jack stands, so we're slowly tuning idle & acceleration enrichment. Pretty happy so far.
