For anything not related to Speeduino, but still about car/bike/boat/engines etc

Well, it's almost spring in these parts. Hope everyone is holding out ok with the Covid thing. Will be getting back to my Speeduino 5.3 LS shortly. This is what I piddled with over the winter. End plan is turbo LS. My buddy scored me a couple Holset 451VE turbos. After a little (lot) of googling, merged some code here and there, hooked up an Arduino and a CanBus shield, and voila, we have a controllable turbo!

Stay safe and busy everyone.

That's pretty cool. :)

What are you planning for a control scheme?
-Boost, shaft rpm, engine rpm, throttle position, etc.

Do you have a flow map for that turbo? That's probably a high PR turbo. How much boost are you planning to make?

There is a good amount of info about the HE351VE at lilbb.com
They have had an opensource controller for several years now. Its targeted at diesel engines but can be setup to work on real gas engines too.
I've acquired four of those turbos so far with the intention of using them in a twin setup, just havent got it done yet.

edit:
I misread your post, you have an he451ve not a 351ve. mostly the same though.
