If it needs an OBD2 input then a teensy or stm32 based speeduino already supports that. For a mega based unit you would need a serial3 interface such as gpio to convert it to the correct canbus data stream.
If it needs serial to interface then you would be best looking at designing a serial3 coprocessor to convert the data stream to what the app is expecting.
