Project is a KLR650 single cylinder, water cooled, four stroke motorcycle. Using NO2c as controller, BMW RS1200 throttle body with TP sensor, Idle solenoid removed and passages blocked. Intake air temp sensor in airbox hose ahead of TB. Standard KLR ignition sensor triggering on 18-1 trigger wheel shrink fitted to alternator rotor. Standard KLR ignition (spark) coil using Nissan Sunny coil driver. AliExpress fuel pump mounted outside of fuel tank, fuel feed and return fitting in tank replacing standard petcock. Fuel pressure at least 45psi according to a not guaranteed accurate gauge. Tuner Studio MS (Ver 3.2.05 registered) running on laptop to set, adjust and monitor various parameters.
Spark table set manually to standard 10 btc at 1400 rising to 30 BTC at 4000. Initial VE table has been set by Tuner Studio (Tuning > VE table > tools > VE table generator) with appropriate engine characteristics applied and still seems far too rich - but, it runs, mostly ok. Idle has to be around 2000- 2500. I am trying to capture logs and tune but when I go to Diagnostics & high speed loggers, select tooth logger OR composite logger and then select "Start", almost immediately the engine chugs down and stops. Doesn't matter how long then engine has been running prior, as soon as the logger is started, the engine dies.
Can anyone suggest what i am doing wrong?

These are for Trigger logging, if you aren't experiencing sync loss then you don't need to touch these. You can start a regular log with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+L -> set filename and then Ctrl+K to stop.

What happens when you run tooth logger/composite logger, both rising and falling edge gets captured and one gets ignored. It acts as kind of a trigger filter - sometimes we see setups where they *only* run with the tooth logger running because of this.

You may have the wrong trigger edge, noise in your triggering system, or misbehaving VR conditioning. Does your stock position sensor(I'm assuming originally made for a single tooth) have a separate ground from the chassis or is it a one wire setup like on many other bikes?

Note on this, you need fuel pressure to be consistent*, most EFI motorcycle fuel pumps do not contain a pressure regulator like a lot of automotive pump units do. Make sure that it's alright.

*that is actually not true however mostly irrelevant for your setup, it just needs to be repeatable within the Load axis of your VE table, a lot of, especially forced induction engines run a MAP compensation to make sure the injector flow remains consistent due to the changing pressure in the intake manifold.

Thanks fr the reply.
The pump has an integral regulator, looks exactly like this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3278964 ... 4c4dExXcew. (I dont recall paying that much, though)
Ignition pickup is two wire, I am using 2 core screened cable from the point it leaves the engine case. to where it attached to VR1+ and VR1- at the NO2C. Triggering on falling edge

I will try your logging suggestion, thanks again

Which VR conditioner are you using?
Are you sure your VR sensor polarity is correct?

Re: VE polarity - unsure but it tries the two wires from the pickup both way round, no difference. It must be something I am doing as now only the composite logger causes the problem. Since you explained about the loggers, wel I'll do without it until there is a need. What i really need now is a useable fuel map so I'l start another thread about that. Thanks for your assistance
