Help with building your Speeduino, installing it, getting it to run etc.

Hi everyone,

I am struggling to get my new install on a Subaru EJ25 to fire, and I am now starting to doubt my TunerStudio settings. I think the crank signal (not running a cam sensor) may not be great too. Should I start to deviate from the manual's recommended setup settings?

Post the tune file, data log, composite log and tooth log so we can see what the settings are. Then people will be able to make suggestions based on what they see.

What trigger pattern are you using.... As I do not think the Subby 2.5 is supported , and it does not fall in line with any of the generic ones.... As asked above, more information is required to be able to help.

I am using the 36-2-2-2, so see no problems using that pattern?

Current tune uploaded. I haven't got a tooth/composite logger to share currently as I am doing a bit of wiring. Will share as soon as I can crank the engine.

Thanks all!

+1 to @stum, that the EJ25 may not be the same as the supported 36-2-2-2. Your tooth log does not quite match. Are you using the stock sensors for that wheel?

Log now attached.
To clarify, I swapped from the original 6/7 wheel to a stock 36 tooth wheel, thinking it would provide a better read.

What did your 36-2-2-2 wheel come from? If off a 4 cyl, that might be the problem.
Is the sensor hall or vr?

As far as I know, it came off a EJ255 Forester. My engine is a 1998 EJ25D, but the configuration is the same?

It's a VR sensor, but I know the later engines with variable valve timing used a hall sensor. I am wondering whether a swap back to the original 6/7 wheel is worth trying?

I *think* it it should work on the 2.5 then.
I'd try reversing the polarity of the VR sensor.
I think that double tooth thing on your tooth log can be a symptom of that.
