Help with building your Speeduino, installing it, getting it to run etc.

Hello all I seem to be having half sync issues cant work it out. Tried swapping the leading and falling edge of the wheels.

Both trigger wheels are 36-1 so 35 teeth when counted but i am only getting half sync not sure why.

I have attached logs and tune etc.

Odd thing is that the tuner studio is seeing both trigger wheels as in the composite view.

Both sensors are VR sensors and are in shielded wire earthed to the ECU. The engine is a 4 cylinder naturally aspirated..

I have probably done something stupid so please feel free to point it out.

Thanks in advance

i cant open the tune on my phone to check, but there's no way to configure a 36-1 wheel on both crank and cam, so I suspect you've got half sync from the crank wheel but the cam wheel doesn't match the pattern its looking for.
You could configure the cam as the primary wheel 36-1 and disconnect the crank.

Have you tried swapping VR+ and VR- leads on the crank sensor?
The double (and shorter) missing tooth bars can indicate leads are reversed and sometimes indicates rising vs falling edge issues. Since you have already tried rising vs falling, try swapping leads.

I cannot see the cam sensor trace in the composite log.

Ooh I used a 36-1 mini wheel in my dizzy for sequential fuelling is that wrong then?

I thought the cam sensor was the bottom red line

yeah, you can't use that as the secondary trigger - but you can use it as the primary trigger and get sequential.
(rewire cam sensor to VR1/RPM1, disconnect the crank sensor).
change settings from this:

you'll see that your old/current config is looking for a single tooth signal on the cam / secondary, which is definitely not 36-1!

Oh i was reading on trigger wheels and thought they could.

I have read somewhere that the cam on where my fuel pump sat can be used ? Is this true I'll have to find the link...

Yes, you might be able to get the fuel pump eccentric gear to work as single tooth or poll level.
But that 36-1 wheel on your distributor will work great. Just needs to be primary.

Thank @jonbill why isnt it recommended to wire a sensor to the cam/distributor when we do these conversions.
It seems that the Cam/Distributor allows for full sequential fuelling and ignition (although I have got the space for coil on plugs)

For redundancy purposes if i cut 34 tabs off my distributor wheel and the kept the crank signal would that help if say the one of the sensors fail and avoid a tow truck?

This page suggests if my primary trigger is Cam or cam speed such as the Dizzy I should divide the number of teeth by two
https://wiki.speeduino.com/en/decoders/Dual_Wheel
Is the wiki out of date or should i put the number of teeth as 18
