I replied to the designer elsewhere but will post here for anyone else planning on doing the same.
For reference, I'm the designer if the CORE4 module.

The Bluetooth diode is not required on the daughterboard as this (and the bypass) are onboard on the CORE4 module.
The reset circuit is not needed as that again is all handled on the module.
There is input protection on all of the normal inputs (TPS, CLT, IAT, MAP....)
D33-D36 are directly wired to the atmega pins, these are intended for driving extra outputs such as hi-side drivers, care should be taken when using these pins.

After a long time i'm back to the project.
I was ready to do some tests but my mistake was that the connector holes are smaller than the connector probes.

Here is the PCB sitting in the case:
