Got the engine running
Apparently it's the crank sensor, changed to zf Gs1007, started like a charm

As now this is running with wasted cop and semi sequential I can setup sequential running
So for sequential to work, where should the cam trigger sensor has to be mounted at?

For wasted spark which pins are used? I see on the board the bottom row of IGN_OUT is IGN1.1, IGN2.1, and IGN3.2/4. Is this the three pins that are used for wasted spark? Should IGN1.1 would go to CYL 1/6, IGN2.1 to CYL 2/5, and IGN3.2/4 to CYL 3/4 coil?

I tried this and the car cranked over, but it seemed like it was only running on 4 cylinders. For CYl 3/4 does the coil go to IGN_3.1 or IGN_3.2/4?

So for 4 cylinder sequential connect
Ign1.1 ----> cylinder 1
Ign2.1 ----> cylinder 4
Ign3.1 ----> cylinder 2
Ign3.2/4 --> cylinder 3
(Firing order 1-3-4-2)
Sorry about another comment about ignition wiring, but on a 6 cylinder it would be
Ign1.1 ----> cylinder 1/6
Ign3.1 ----> cylinder 2/5
Ign3.2/4 --> cyinder 3/4

Still having trouble with the car running weird on wasted spark, but haven't tried the above way to wire it.

Nope. That´s wrong. 3.2/4 and 3.1 uses same IGN3-OUT.
You have to wire IGN 1.1 (1+6), IGN 2.1(2+5) and IGN 3.1(3+4) if you don´t use SJ5. SJ5 makes 3.2 either 4 cyl seq. or 6 cyl wasted.

I´d prefer to use those without SJ5. It makes life easier.

That's what I tried the first time but the car ran really weird, I don't have SJ5 soldered. When I switched back to the cap/rotor it ran fine. Actually when I think about it, I was using 3.2 for cyl 3/4 without SJ5 soldered, so that might have been my issue. I guess I'll give it another try today. Thank you for clarifying.

Check your coil pinout and ignition wires. Some Bosch coils are for V6 engines that have differend firing order than BMW straight 6 so cylinder numbering in coil nor pins are not suitable for bmw.
