For discussion of Speeduino compatible boards designed / built by other members of the forum and for guidance around making such a board

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search and looked in the manual - is there a list of the NO2C P1 connector definitions somewhere? I get most of them, but I cannot decide on the functions of BST, LNCH and VVT (variable valve timing?)
Thanks

Hi Peter,
BST is boost output, VVT is variable valve timing output, both outputs provide ground. LNCH is the launch control input, use a switched ground connection with this input.

Excellent, thank you. Somehow I cant see any of these will be used on my KLR650, but nice to know .
Once the fuel pump / regulator arrives from Ali Baba I'll be able to start turning this into reality.

You may never use the additional features, but they are commonly re-purposed for other uses such as allowing millisecond engine cut for clutchless shifting with a shift lever sensor, or flashing your high-beam indicator as a shift light, or disabling exhaust air induction for poppy sound, or activating your glove heater power below a certain IAT temperature, or ... All fun and games once the basic system is singing well.

Other options are what i use those output's for...

Remote engine start with engine running sensing along with headlight control all via bluetooth app.

All of this in an old 1989 motorbike.

Well, that didn't go well. After confirming the Arduino board talked to the PC ok (it did) then installing the NO2C board and reconnecting to the PC, that looked ok. Tried adding a few sensors (TPS, IAT to see if I could see any reaction in Tuner Studio) and 12volts. The 12VDC source was a 1000mA plug pack, checked and double checked the polarity was correct. Switched on and all the magic smoke came out of cap C2 and possibly other things in that area.

What are the odds that it's repairable, or should i just get another NO2C kit and try again?

Hey PJ1678, Sorry to hear that. Are you sure it wasn't C4? It is most likely repairable but a GOOD picture of both sides and one of the problem area would be appreciated.

Thanks, Weaver

Sorry, yes C4. U2 is pretty black (how to test other than by replacement?) and D4 likewise, but it meters ok. Track from P1 +12 to C4 is ok. 99% certain I got C4 the correct way around when assembling, but, anything is possible.
