The platform I intend on setting a speeduino up for has a distributor. Am I able to use the spare ignition outputs as a general switch? I notice it is otherwise a bit sparse on general aux inputs or outputs.

The functions I am looking at specifically are:
Triggering camshaft solenoids (just on/off, not PWM).
Triggering Air conditioning output.

Both of these I would like some logic with too, if that is possible.

Sorry if this is a silly question. Ive got good experience with Link ECU but want a budget option for a particular project and am investigating whether a speeduino will be a suitable candidate.

Yes.

You can repurpose anything.

Buy you would have to do it in the source code and upload to the Mega yourself.

Alternatively purchase a board that has more IO.

The UA4C has plenty.

No I didnt mean VVT. Its for the NEO VVL on a SR20VE engine, behaves much like the early VTEC systems.

I'm still learning whats available for the speeduino systems. Is there a database of the different 'base boards' which exist around so I can compare them?
