The AEM and other aftermarket cas disc are only around $50 US and readily available. The nissan eccs system has a lot of software filtering for the CAS. While it may seem that it would output a clean digital like output at all times, it doesnt. With a timing belt especially there is a lot of reverbe...

Oh damn, I just realized that there's just one longer slot per 2 crank revolutions. That complicates things... Still doable but for sure at least one more IC required. At this point it might be worth thinking about adding a dedicated Arduino Uno or nano just for this purpose.

I must be feeling particularly bored today  Here's another proposal. Also 3 ICs but no diodes, just one transistor, one cap and 3 resistors (ok, there should be also caps for power supply, preferably one per each IC) and that includes power-on reset.

Together with my friend we were discussing a solution for this few times in the past. So, I've finally given it more though and came up with this circuit. It uses just a bunch of cheap of the shelf components, probably less than 3$. It might be needing a small tweak as I did not exactly check what a...

... it's a blasphemy to mention those here  At least I can tell you for certain that MS II with all its downsides supports the opto sensor from CA18DET asa friend of mine used it for years (for fuel only if I remember correctly, COPs were still run from original ECU). Now he has switched to ...

Measure your CAS sensor disc diameter. Buy a suitable 24/1 disc from AEM or other aftermarket. Enable pull up resistor for crank/cam input, no conditioner needed. Set to trigger on falling edge. Use dual wheel and find your trigger offset using provided information. That's the easiset way. Otherwise...

If I set up a crank trigger wheel with a hall or VR sensor, can the speeduino run the engine with only this?

No. It's not possible with the Mega and not fully tested with the Teensy. Change it to something supported. Look up the coils and find out what signal they require. A forum for your engine is a good place to start to find specifics for you engine. Direct is for a 5V square wave. TSC is Through Signa...

Hi. I am setting up a v0.4.4 with my ca18det. It is the later version with COPs. Is it possible to use the stock Nissan 360 cam angle sensor with a VR-conditioner? It says on the wiki that the decoder is "in progress". -How does the decoder ...
