As a hardware test, wouldn't it be effective to just load the base tune, and verify blinkies from that?

after installing the april update I now have 3 of the four channels working on both sides.I also note that when testing the channel one of the ignition the other 3 LED get brighter

I guess it comes down to the output testing being a little buggy yet
