Looking great. BTW, I just did the math and realized your Youtube channel is Sipa's BMW Garage. I have been watching your videos for a while. Good stuff.

Well done! It's good to have that too. What engine(s) that would support? Those 55pin ones are not something that I know a lot. As far as I know, those are used in older m40 engines and in m20? Maybe even m30 and s38. The case is at least huge, so lot of room :D

current pin mapping is for the m20 but i been checking with some etms and looks like its same as on the m30 and s38. i did panned to add the m40 too but cant seems to find any m40 55pin etms.

seems like it but not much room inside. mainly because of the heatsinks position and the cutouts for the case mounts.

You are right. Can't seem to find those either. When m10 changes to m40 the ETM's only include m20 engines. And I found couple for late 318i, but those didn't have ecu pages at all. Strange. I will get back to you if I find one.

EDIT I got one in finnish. I will translate that to you.

M20,M30 and M40 (e30 and e34) uses Motronic 1.3 in 55-pin configuration. Pins are exactly same. You can even use M40 Motronic in M20 or M30 engine if you chance EPROM. I´ve checked that. S38 uses Motronic 1.2 but it uses almost same pins as Motronic 1.3. Only difference is that 1.2 uses MAF, when 1.3 uses flapper-style AFM.

How many ignition IGBT´s is in board? It would be nice to have wasted-spark capability. There is some unused pins in 55-pin connector that could be used for ignition control.

thanks for the info. i suspect that too but its good to make sure that from someone with experience. :)

yeah has 6 ignition outputs (can be configured to run 4 cylinder full-seq) and 6 injector outputs ( also can be configured to run 6 cyl semi-seq or 4 cyl full-seq) . :D
