so in brief, i'm building a kit car, its using a 2.5l v6 ford duratec engine with turbo and all the goodies to get that to do what it does, this is being mounted mid engine rwd, obviously im running a speeduino ecu with this and an onboard raspberry pi4 for tunerstudio and pi-dash, but i need some advice as to how to get a speedometer working, the gearbox has a plug where i would have expected to see the old whirly type speedo cable, is it a case of supplying 5v and ground and then connecting the output wire to an i/o pin in the pi?

(admins) not sure this is the correct place to ask on the forum so please feel free to relocate.

thanks in advance for any help

Depends..
Is it a hall sensor (3 wire) or VR?

If the latter you. Red to feed the signal through a conditioner.

You also need to figure out how many impulse per km? I think it is.

There's a high chance the hall sensor is fed with 12v (my Ford one is, as is my son's)
You will need a 5V pull up and it will connect to your ECU NOT the pi ;)

Out of interest, what gearbox are you using with your engine?
