there is zero issue with selling boards, especially unmodified official designs, benny is well within his rights to do so, and it only helps the project.letty wrote:the sale of these boards have nothing to do with EDC, they would have never done this. The boards in question are being sold by Benny from Israel.
Not publicly, and thats the problem. Also board design files, etc... All need to be public, (and not just sent to josh)from what I know, EDC already released the documentation, which is the only thing he is required to do. I have a full copy since I purchased two units from him. I should purchase the remaining units and put them on Ebay.....
And what about that company in texas? See my comment about benny above...Instead of all this drama which has led to nothing other than increasing EDC's sales, show what you have done and made available as a manufactured product.
There's a company in Texas that is making the 0.4 boards and selling them over the counter for $125.00 assembled.
$125 isn't too bad if it includes the Arduino.letty wrote:There's a company in Texas that is making the 0.4 boards and selling them over the counter for $125.00 assembled.
Since it is an "official" board design, there is no unique support required, it is when you make a derivative product, that things become more complex, I.E. the derivative product must be shared the same as the official, including design files, documentation, etc...letty wrote:The Texas boards are being sold but don't know about support, I don't believe these guys though about it.
