Help with building your Speeduino, installing it, getting it to run etc.

Hi everybody.I converted my 2stroke moped just for fun.Im a auto mechanic In Greece Corfu.Im having running problems and i think it is due to injector timing and wrong engine constants.Engine idles fine but when i rev it it bogs and becomes very rich.If i turn down injector ms it misfires because it becomes to lean.I would like some help/info would help me save some time.Bike Is a two stroke piaggio typhoon 69cc with a throttle body and injector from a Kymco Peaple S 150cc 26 mm.Flywheel is standard single tooth and im controlling fuel only.Fuel pressure at 3 bar.I will post photos and my current tune for lookup.Thank you

This is current tune. And these are pics of the bike.Didnt have time or funds for a proper trigger wheel and that is why i used the standar trigger pattern runnig on distrbutor mode.

First you need to calibrate your sensors like TPS, CLT, and IAT,
Them you need to set your required fuel, it is a value the systems calculates whit.

Next you need to get dead time spot on.
short explanation, due to battery voltage levels the open time of the injector wil also be different.
Systems does calculate this but needs a good value to start whit.

Now start tuning by adjusting the values in the VE table.

You also need to adjust the steps on your TPS sensor, i put aan example to it.
Don't use the VE values it is totaly different engine.

My two pennies worth.

Your four stroke injector for the 155cc engine may be too big and you are trying to tune in the dead time part of the injectors opening period.

For a two stroke, for good tune ability you need the smallest injector you can get away with. With my single cylinder 110cc two stroke staged injection engine. I use a single 38cc/min injector for good low speed/low load tuning and then bring in a pair of 128cc injectors for power at about 7,000 RPM.

You might need a smaller injector or even staged injection using two small injectors. Staged injection with the Speeduino is real easy to configure.

That is likely, and the injector may be in the non-linear flow range at such small PW. Although not a fix, a quick test to see if this might be the issue could be to reduce fuel pressure, reducing flow and requiring longer injector PW. I would try 1.5 or 2 bar and confirm if re-tune results and dead-time testing go in the right direction. If so, then plan what parts or scheme you need.

PS: With such a large oversized fuel pump, your regulator may be over-pressure already, and worse at lower pressures. Too small to handle the pump flow. Verify your injector pressure before chasing your tail. ;)

Thank you for your replies.will look into that.Couldnt find a smaller and cheap fuel pump.it s a bosch 070..Will look into injector sizing and pressure testing.Regulator can handle anything.Having other problems now.Installed an HC-05 bluetooth.Works fine. But i cant connect via usb cable when the bt module is wired. If i remove it it works. Is it supposed to work this way? Also.I soldered a uln2003an for relay control.first time had problems an overheating the chip. And it was connected i thing right.Second uln2003 relay blew up when i connected it to the wrong side of the relay.(Didnt have a multimeter to check if it worked before fitted or not.Is it supposed to give a positive or a negative electricity for fuel pump control?I ordered two more just in case.I also ordered a3 uln2803a because the they had a minimum money order.Dont know if i can use them. Tried to start the bike and didnt start. Not enough time for diagnosing as it is late and sun is down.I will post some pics of the board and the blown uln2003an.Now for the tuning part. Once i find the injector size and dead times will test and see how it goes.Dont think injector is to big .What i think is the problem is that the fuel pressure regulator has a vacuum tha lifts the pressure when inta pressure drops. With wrong accelaration enrichment this will never work(Havent played with it since my first post in this thread.Other thing im thinkingis that two stroke draw air fuel mixture into the crankshaf chamber from 180 degrees btc to 360tdc degrees.Tunerstudio doesnt have that option. Also the flywheel has a single tooth pattern wich i have mesured it s position with a timing wheel during asembly.BUT in order the ecu to read rpm corectly i have selected 2 cylinder option with one injector. The engine is a single cylinder Now this is my first fuel injected two stroke and my first speeduino.Problems is part of the tuning procces.Sorry for the long post this is my first bike and i fixed it after 15 years of having it in the shed.(my brother broke it when i served in the army)This might be a small bike but it means alot to me.And i will make it work:) As for the fuel pump it draws to much energy dropping the voltage to 11.8 when idling.a have sourced a smaller one from a monopoint system.but these tend to work at 1.5 barbut ar smaller and draw less electricity.Have spend almost 1000 euros on all parts. And most of the racing parts i had bough 15 years ago like mallosi reed system gianneli exhaust variator springs etc.haha sorry for the long post.Looking forward to talk to you guys. Here are some pictures.cheers
