Help with building your Speeduino, installing it, getting it to run etc.

hi all,

just finished the wiring on my car for the UA4C ecu, but when i try to start it the engine rpm gauge in tunerstudio doesnt move at all, i will add a picture of the tooth log and as you can see it's all over the place.

the cps wire is the oem one i used from the original loom and i confirmed it is in the right place on the speeduino ecu (signal, ground and shield)

its a VR sensor, and i confirmed to pullups are set correct on the board
i tried different filter settings but it doesnt make a difference.
on the oem ecu it ran fine so i think the cps itself is fine.

any here that can help figure this out?

To see if it is somehow related to engine compression, bad starter or weak battery.
Without compression effect it should be a more regular pattern, easier to follow.
Try to post the file and not the screenshot, easier for us/me to zoom in and count the pulses.
Which teethed wheel do you use ?

Ok, i can rule out the battery since it was hooked up to a fully charged booster.
Tomorow i will try it with the plugs out and send the file Instead of the screenshot.

Like marty says a 36-1 stock ford setup.

Not such a nice tooth logger :(
Did put some pointers in the log.
Blue ones might be indicating that vr sensor is backwards, swap the wires, at the moment not the biggest issue.
Red ones look like it is counting some small teeth and in total it counts more then the 36-1.

Is the sensor contaminated whit metal particles ?
Or is the 36-1 wheel not centered ?
Misalignment of the VR sensor ?
Distance between wheel and sensor ?

I switched polarity and the signal looks good now, disconnected the cam sensor and set it an semi sequential, now i have an rpm reading and it did fire up, didnt run great but its a start.

The trigger wheel and sensor have not been touched at all, it is as it was stock on the engine.

Nice to read some progress !
I didn't know you also had a cam sensor.
Is this also a VR sensor or Hall type.
You might rum them both through the VR conditioner.
